Welcome to the 2024 Kids Fishing For A cure fun day of fishing for pediatric cancer patients and their families.
This years date for our fun day is Saturday, July 20, 2024 at the Selkirk Park.
The days Schedule is as follows
- 7:30 A.M. - 9:30 Am Free pancake and sausage breakfast
- 7:30A.M. - 9:00 Am Boat launching (no charge)
- Approx 9:00 Am Loading of boats
- 10:00 A.M. - 1:00 Pm Fishing
- 1:00 P.M. - 3:00 Pm Lunch (hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks, ice cream & entertainment
- 2:00 P.M. - 3:00 Pm Trophy presentations, gifts and pictures
- 3:00 P.M Raffle draws
The Children will be supplied with life jackets, fishing tackle, bait, snacks and cold beverages. Volunteers will be on hand to assist in launching and loading the boats. Support boats will be available for additional drinks and assistance. We must keep in mind that all of our attending families are at different stages fighting this illness and sometimes a family is unable to attend last minute. Every year we have some that register but due to illness are unable to attend , we do our best to make sure all boat operators get to take someone fishing. As well alot of the families are larger so we have to split them into 2 boats so if that's the case with your families we ask that those boat operators work together to fish together so the family can still enjoy the day somewhat together.
Please note also that this is a rain or shine event and we do have rain ponchos for the attendees
